EMPOWERING

VISUALLY IMPAIRED

PEOPLE

"We walk by faith and not by sight. We feel that our sight may be impaired but our lives do not have to be."

Kim Kuster, Founder

Oasis for the Visually Impaired is a not-for-profit organization that offers support, encouragement, education and resources to adults coping with varying degrees of vision loss.

OASIS serves adults in the Chicago south suburbs who are living with vision loss. We offer help through our monthly support group sessions, community education seminars, low-cost adaptive devices, information, and referral services.

Individuals coping with vision loss due to a birth defect, accident, disease or eye condition such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy or retinitis pigmentosa can feel depressed, alone, and sometimes hopeless. Our purpose is to help adults cope and move forward in positive ways.
